two posts in one day, lucky

This song totally and completely defines my life right now, its amazing you should go download it from iTunes!

Leona Lewis
Happy

Someone once told me
that you have to choose
What you win or lose
You can't have everything
don't you take chances
you might feel the pain
don't you love in vain
cause love won't set you free
I could stand by the side
and watch this life pass me by
so unhappy but safe as could be

so what if it hurts me
so what if I break down
so what if this world just throws me off the edge
my feet run out of ground
i gotta find my place
i wanna hear my sound
don't care about all pain in front of me
i'm just trying to be happy
just wanna be happy...

holding on tightly
I just can't let it go
just tryin to play my role
slowly disappear
well all these tears
they feel like they're the same
just different faces, different names
get me out of here
i can't stand by the side
and watch this life pass me by

so what if it hurts me
so what if I break down
so what if this world just throws me off the edge
my feet run out of ground
I gotta find my place
I wanna hear my sound
don't care about all pain in front of me
i'm just tryin to be happy

so any turns that i can't see
i'll encounter strangers on this road
but don't say victim
don't say anything

so what if it hurts me
so what if I break down
so what if this world just throws me off the edge
my feet run out of ground
I gotta find my place
I wanna hear my sound
don't care about all pain in front of me
i just want to be happy....

St. George Girls Trip

This weekend some of my girlfriends and I went down to St. George to see Aida at Tuacahn... Nicole's parents have a condo down there so we stayed at the condo, laid out in the sun on Saturday morning/afternoon (of course I watched the Michigan game--GO BLUE) and then went to the play on Saturday night. Some of us came home early on Sunday (I did because I had so much homework to do)

Photos from the condo:

Red rocks on the way to Tuacahn:

The beautiful stage and the canyon behind...

The girls:

Tasha, Michelle, Amy and Brooke

Me, Tasha, Michelle, and Amy

Nicole, all by herself :( (we had one seat that was all alone so Nicole sat there first and then Michelle switched with her at Intermission (or halftime as we were calling it))

Nate and Angie: September 12, 2009

My good friend Angie got married this past Saturday. She and her new husband have been together since we were all in high school! This was the second wedding of an Ice Angel (our former synchronized skating team) this year! (Alyssa got married on August 15: read that post here)...

I got a new camera so the greatness of these pictures is mostly due to the equipment...

Right after they were pronounced man and wife!

They got married at the Johnson Mill in Midway, BEAUTIFUL location (I still think that the swans were planted! Come on, two white swans come swimming up towards the wedding during the cocktail hour? To perfect to be true... or it could be too perfect to be planned :))

Mr. and Mrs. Fairbanks

During the toasts...

Fancy dancing!

It was a beautiful wedding and I am so happy for you guys!

New Things

The last few weeks have brought some new things, here is a non-exclusive list of those things with accompanying photographs:

**School started again, I am now a second year law student with hopes of doing well this year and landing an awesome job

**I started working in the Office of Athletics Compliance at the University of Utah, and I LOVE IT! Unfortunately for me, working in athletics complaince doesn't make nearly the money that private legal practice makes, but I'll make that decision when the time comes

** I got some new "things" in my life (see photos below)

**I also felt true exhaustion for the first time in my life. I was so tired at the end of this week that I physically got sick, I am working on getting my life more organized so that doesn't happen again...

This is not a new thing but there are only 64 days until the World Cup Bobsled and Skeleton races in Park City (first races of the season) and 159 days until the start of the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver! I can't wait to cheer on Team Holcomb ;)
