The Waiting Game

So since I heard from South Carolina Law and University of Richmond Law, I haven't heard much. I did receive a request to apply for a very prestigious scholarship for the University of Richmond Law School. If I get the scholarship I will get $25,000 per year for three years in scholarship money and on top of that I would be part of a class or seminar series that is lead by a Federal Circuit Judge of the state of Virginia. It would be an amazing opportunity to network with people that I hope to be working with in the future. If I get the scholarship, it is going to be hard to say no to Richmond!

As for everything else, its going great!

Culinary Adventures

My culinary adventures over the last two weeks. From the top: chicken tortilla soup (so good I made it again this week for lunches and after bobsled session dinners), Onion Soup mix roasted potatoes (stolen from Cassie's Mom), Sweet and Sour Pork chops, these were really good! Last but not least, Oatmeal cookies with rice krispies and oatmeal raisin cookies. The cookies are on the platter that my aunt Susan gave me for Christmas (it was my first "grown-up" present), it's a beautiful piece of pottery.

If you want any of the recipes just let me know!!

Some pictures from the last week

Cassie medaled in America's Cup races! Chelsea having fun watching bobsled races. Some USA women bobsledders going down the track and all the bobsleds lined up at the top of the track.

I just recently found my camera cord so that's why these pictures took so long!

I got in!! (Part 2)

I got a phone call today from the Assistant Dean of Admissions for the University of Richmond Law School, congratulating me on my acceptance to their Law School!! Two down, three to go!

Snowy Day

In all actuality it did not snow that much today but we had a severe wind advisory all day and the snow was blowing so hard that we had 5 foot snow drifts in some places at the UOP!

Here are some of the pictures from today... The first is my leg the snow drifter to halfway up my calf

My car was plastered with snow when I went to leave

The last picture is of my footprints on the way to the car...

Law School Applications Done

So my law applications are done I decided to cut down the list to five: Vanderbilt, Utah, Richmond, South Carolina, and Alabama.

I will continue to keep you posted on which schools I get into!

Thanks for everyone's support

I didn't feel comfortable on my sled...

Many of you may know that my roommate Cassie does the sport of skeleton. It is where you go down the bobsled track, head first, 80 MPH on a sled... She is racing this week in two different races and she came home last night and said "I didn't slide well today" and I asked her what went wrong, and she said that she just didn't feel right on her sled...here are some pics of here in the living room trying to get comfortable

Pro/Con Lists

Everyone who knows me knows that I cannot make a decision without carefully weighing all the options. Therefore our living room walls now have 5 big law school pro/con lists...before and then with some work done...

365 days in pictures

My cousin Holly sent me an email a few weeks ago that had a challenge in it: Take one picture a day for 365 days. That way by the end of the year you have the year in pictures and you can look back on 2008 and remember exactly what you did on January 15th or on October 4th. I think that it is a great idea and I am going to try it!

Here are some from the first few days in January

New Years Eve:

Law Schools

I have applied to three law schools so far, I just wanted to keep everyone up to date on everything. The applications that have been sent out are: Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Alabama. So I still have about five more to go but I am trying to get at least one done per day and so far I am doing really well. Vanderbilt was sent out on January 1, South Carolina on January 2, and Alabama is being sent out today on January 3. So by this time next week I should have all of my applications for law school done and out of the way which would be amazing!

Work is going well, all of our bobsled sessions are going off without a hitch!

Hope that everyone is having a great 2008 so far!

Write again soon...
